BatchGuard — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
BatchGuard ("the app") helps Shopify merchants track lot/batch numbers and expiration dates for their inventory. This policy describes what data the app processes and stores when installed on a Shopify store.
Data we store
- Store data: your store's domain, the settings you configure (alert threshold, notification email, timezone) and your store's currency code.
- Inventory data you enter: lot numbers, expiry dates, quantities and notes, linked to Shopify product/variant IDs, along with product titles, SKUs and prices copied from your catalog.
- Order references: when an order is placed, the app records the order ID and the ordered quantities so stock can be deducted from lots (first-expiring first) and audited.
Data we do NOT store
The app does not store any customer personal information — no names, emails, addresses or payment details. Order webhooks are processed for line-item quantities only.
Data sharing
Data is not sold or shared with third parties. Alert emails are delivered through our email provider solely to the notification address you configure.
Data retention & deletion
All stored data for a shop is deleted when the app is uninstalled, and again upon Shopify's shop/redact GDPR request (sent 48 hours after uninstall). Customer data requests (customers/data_request, customers/redact) are acknowledged automatically; since no customer personal data is stored, there is nothing to return or erase.
